Our Mission

Founded in 1997, Arts of Vaishnava Culture (AVC) is a coalition of artists working to inspire higher consciousness, ecological awareness, and spiritual unity through music, art, and literature.

Art of Kirtan is the latest evolution in AVC's decades of kirtan seminars and retreats. This online music school is working to preserve the Vaishnava music heritage and share kirtan internationally.

Our Teachers

Bada Haridas
Kirtan, harmonium, and music theory teacher
Over the past 50 years, Bada Haridas has taught more than 12,000 kirtan students, sung in more than 2,000 kirtan festivals around the world, and produced 7 studio kirtan albums.

Professionally trained in classical music and jazz, he earned his degree from the University of Southern California in music composition, and was awarded a scholarship for graduate studies at the Institute for Advanced Musical Studies in Montreau, Switzerland.

Sharing the nectar of kirtan with you is Bada Haridas’ pleasure and the inspiration behind the Art of Kirtan music school.
Visvambhar Sheth
Kirtan, bhajan, mridanga, and kartal teacher
An internationally recognized kirtan singer, recording artist, and inspirational speaker, Visvambhar (Vish) has a lifelong connection to India and its culture. Being brought up in a kirtan family and community, he began leading kirtan when he was five years old. Vish has a rare capacity to invoke and transmit the essence of kirtan.

Vish is a multi-instrumentalist and a master of the mridanga drum. In this capacity, he has accompanied and recorded with world-leading kirtan artists. He is the lead singer of The Mayapuris, a headlining kirtan group that has rocked stages worldwide. He is also a performer and recording artist with World-beat Ensemble and The Hanumen. Vish has shared his love for kirtan at well-known venues like BhaktiFest, Omega Institute, Wanderlust, and Beloved.

Vish has composed many unique songs, and collaborates with his wife, Vrinda Sheth, to make music and song for dances. They are currently living in Mayapur, West Bengal, India with their three children.
